The text type is a story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The journey could be through<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>personal memories<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>historical events<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>imaginary time travel<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>changes in nature, technology or society<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Primary School Guidelines &#8211; alakoulu A1\u2013A2<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Use your imagination to describe a journey through time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Write in full sentences and try to organize your ideas clearly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You may write about the past, the future or a magical adventure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lower Secondary Guidelines &#8211; yl\u00e4koulu A2\u2013B1<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Choose a clear idea for your time journey, real or fictional.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Organize your writing with a beginning, middle and end.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use paragraphs and descriptive language.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Upper Secondary<\/strong> <strong>Guidelines<\/strong> &#8211; <strong>lukio ja ammatillinen toinen aste B2<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Explore the theme with depth. Consider historical, philosophical or speculative angles.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Organize your writing with a beginning, middle and end.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use paragraphs and descriptive language.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use varied vocabulary and sentence structures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Word Count Limit<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>2500 characters including spaces<\/strong>, approximately 500 words<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Stories over 2500 characters will be disqualified, so teachers should check the character count before submitting<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Rules on Originality<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Text must be the student\u2019s own original work.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All texts must be written at school under teacher supervision. <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Addition 26 November 2025: The teacher decides how much time to give their students to write the stories. The texts should be written during a single session.<\/mark><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No use of AI tools or external help is allowed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pupils may use Word spell-check but should not open tabs to dictionary or other applications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Plagiarism or AI-generated content will result in disqualification.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Technical Instructions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What to include in the document:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>student\u2019s name or pseudonym (depending on publication preferences)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>school and grade level<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>title of the story<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>character count: at the end: <em>Character count: 2500<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>File naming format:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>format: LastName_FirstName_Grade.docx<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>example: Korhonen_Aino_7A.docx<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Accepted file formats:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>.docx; .doc; .rtf<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>PDFs are not accepted due to formatting issues when preparing the texts for publication.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Submission instructions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Teachers must send all entries as email attachments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do not use links to cloud storage as they may stop working or allow edits after the deadline.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One email per class or school is recommended, but each story should be a separate attachment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Submissions are now closed.
